Okra is pretty easy to grow in Houston. I had especially good results in 2016, when I was able to grab up to 8 okra a day from the same plant. I often ate them raw directly off the plant, but a substance that covers the outside of the fruit irritates my mouth, so I have gotten in the habit of rinsing them off before eating.
