Acanthocephala declivis - BugGuide

I found this giant leaffooted bug on May 3, 2014. Like other leaffooted bugs, such as the western leaffooted bug (Leptoglossus zonatus), it feeds on tomatoes, of which I have many in April 2017, as well as other plants. It is distinguished from the western leaffooted bug in the way the "leaves" run down the length of the tibia on the hind legs, the larger pronotum, and the absence of a horizontal line across the wings.
