When I walked from my study to the kitchen on April 1, 2018, I saw this brown anole, the first I have ever seen, standing utterly motionless on my kitchen floor tiles. I suppose that's a good survival strategy out among the plants, but it doesn't work quite as well on kitchen tiles! I touched the nub of hist tail, but he remained frozen until I touched one of his legs, when he made a quick step or two, then froze again.
When I tried to pick him up to move him outside, he scrambled frantically, but I managed to hold him and take him to the back patio. Fortunately for me, he struck a pose once again so I could take more pics and vids out in the daylight.
