Jelly Ear - MushroomExpert.com
I found this specimen of jelly ear on a log bordering my herb garden. It is large and inverted cup-like compared to many jelly ears. Jelly ears typically, but not neccesarily, grow on elder logs. I don't have elder growing in my yard, but I occasionally bring in a variety of logs from around the neighborhood.
I found this specimen on March 7, 2017, after a couple rainy days. The upper surface is normally the same color as the bottom, but this one might have some kind of mold on it.
