On January 14, 2017, I found a cotton ball-like white mass on a mondo grass blade. It was a collection of small cocoons made by braconid larvae that had left the insect victim, often a caterpiller, on which their mother had laid eggs, and which the larvae had eaten alive from the inside out. Adults consume nectar and pollen.
