Sweet Autumn Clematis (Clematis terniflora)

Back to Plants

Clematis terniflora - Missouri Botanical Garden

Duration: Perennial, deciduous Native to: JapanEdibility: Not described as edibleStatus in Yard: Limited

One or more clematis species have grown in a few places in the back yard and the west yard. On March 11, 2014, I noticed this little tuft of clematis in the west yard.
This plant ended up being removed when I added a satsuma tree in that location.

Most prominently, it has climbed all over the spool for my garden hose in the back yard. It flowers in the fall.
