I have grown cucumbers successfully here since the spring of 2014. The plants grow fast and are very productive for a while, but they soon succumb to leaf rotting, partly due to powdery mildew. I have heard of people sowing seeds on the same mound once the first plants are in full production since it is expected that the first plants will die quickly.
