I found several flatid planthoppers of the genus Cyarda (all probably the same species), on some common sunflowers on April 6, 2017. These plants are known to be Cyarda hosts, meaning that the insects poke their rostroms (their straw-like mouth parts) into the sunflower stems and drink the juice. According to U. of Delaware, Cyarda species are only identifiable by examination of the genetalia, so I am sticking with the genus.
Like the milkweek assassin bug, the Cyarda in my yard do not like to be photographed and move to the other side of the stem. I was able to nudge a couple back to my side with my finger, but they moved right back when I tried to take a picure. If I was too pushy with my finger, they escaped by dropping to the ground.

On April 19, 2017, a planthopper of the same species was hanging out on my kitchen window.  It couldn't move to the other side of the window when I filmed it, so it just walked away.
