Carolina Geranium seedlings appear in my back yard in January, and they finish their lifecycle with seed pods in April. 

Various plant edibility and alternative medicine sources say the entire plant is edible, but bitter. More mainstream plant information sources don't mention it.

Carolina geranium with mature leaves in a large pot on February 24, 2014. You can see a little henbit in there. In early 2017, henbit is the only plant there.
