Liriomyza sativa - University of Florida
I have not seen any individuals of this species, but I assume either they or American serpentine leafminers, or both, are making the leaf tunnels I see on watermelon leaves and the leaves of other garden plants.
This picture of leaf mines in a watermelon seedling was taken on June 5, 2016.
