Orthodes majuscula - Butterflies and Moths of North America

Rustic quaker moths live in eastern USA and eastern Canada, and their larvae eat a variety of plants like dandelions, grasses, and plantain, the latter two of which are in my yard. In southern states like Texas, adults can probably fly year-round. It is a medium-sized moth, about 1.5 - 2.0 cm from snout to wingtip.

I found this moth on the wall of my kitchen, which it entered through the open kitchen door at night on May 11, 2017. The bright spot on and around the moth is due to my using a strong flashlight to illuminate it.
