I found this 2-3mm beetle flying slowly in my kitchen on the night of March 29, 2017. I managed to see where it landed on the floor and take photos and a video of it using my clip-on 20x macro lens on my phone. It popped open its elytra (wing covers) a few times and flew less than a foot each time. Both the larvae and adults of this beetle eat grains, such as wheat and corn, stored indoors in warm conditions.

This video shows the lesser grain borer struggling with the dust on my kitchen floor. It opens its elytra (wing covers) and takes off three times, only to land near where it was before.
