Azalea lace bugs are invasive insects native to Japan. They primarily live on evergreen azaleas like the one forming the hedges in my front yard.  The photo below, taken on May 14, 2017, shows two nymphs, one larger than the other, on the underside of an azalea leaf. The dark spots on the leaf are excrement. I only found a small cluster of leaves affected. Azalea lace bugs can be prey for mirid plant bugs and mymarid wasps.
