Psuedomonas syringae pv. lachrymans

Angular Leaf Spot - UMass Amherst

In April 2020, I identified an infection on my cantaloupe leaves as Angular Leaf Spot (Psuedomonas syringae pv. lachrymans). The bacteria probably got on because I didn't mulch the mound before I put in the transplants. This allowed the bacteria to splash on the lower leaves when it rained.

At first, I sprayed the leaves with baking soda, but I soon realized that was useless because this infection is bacterial, not fungal. So now I am removing the worst-affected leaves on the bottom in the hope that the upper leaves will not be as badly infected.
