I received this plant at a meeting of the Houston Native Plant Society in January 2015 and planted it by the west fence towards the back of the back yard. I took this photo on February 1, 2015.

In January 2017, it had healthy leaves, but the plant overall seemed smaller than it was earlier last year. Later in 2017, it grew much more than it ever had before.

This picture was taken on January 18, 2017. It's hard to tell how much the January freeze has affected it. The leaf color seems lighter and grayer than usual.
