Duration: Perennial Origination: Southern United StatesEdibility: Roots for tea, berries in small amountsStatus in Yard: Died, not replaced

I bought this plant at a store in September 2013 and planted it in the northeast back corner of my back yard. It never did well, and only lasted about a year. I liked that the tree's berries were good food for birds.

Here is the beautyberry on April 6, 2014. I had planted it in the northeast corner of the back yard. At the time, the star jasmine was still taking up a lot of space by the back fence.
