Yellow and white irises have been living by the west side of my house since before I moved in. The particular cultivar is not native, like many of the other ornamental plants on the lot.
The irises live in the narrow strip of dirt between the garage and the narrow walkway that leads to the backyard gate. Bricks were used to fill that strip of dirt, and the irises grow through the holes in the bricks.
This iris is blooming on April 9, 2014.
