I planted a peppermint transplant in my new herb garden on September 16, 2013. The plant is still there in 2017, though it has moved around since then. In other words, the plant put out rhizomes and grew in another place in the garden, and the plant in the original position was crowded out by the lemon balm. As the wikipedia article says, peppermint is a cross between watermint and spearmint. I often put sprigs of it in my smoothies.

On March 6, 2016, I bought a chocolate mint at Buchanan's. It is a cultivar of peppermint that I like, as it tastes like a chocolate mint!
