Nandina is one of the "ornamental" shrubs previous tenants of this house planted to "beautify" the yard. I am not fond of it, primarily because it hails from the far east, like many other shrubs and trees in my yard. It once lined the east side of the back patio and the back of my master bedroom, but I removed all that in stages over the three years I have been here. It lives on in the east yard.

On January 14, 2017, the nandina on the east side of the house still had ripe berries on it.
