Yellow woodsorrel is a native groundcover plant, closely related to violet woodsorrel, which covers much of the back yard. Yellow woodsorrel is much less abundant, and it grows in larger patches. Its heart-shaped leaves and yellow flowers are considerably smaller than those of violet woodsorrel, and the lemony flavor of the leaves is milder.
