Duration: Perennial, evergreen | Native to: Eastern USA | Edibility: Not described as edible | Status in Yard: Only between kitchen and patio |
This common evergreen fern was growing between the kitchen and the back patio when I moved into the house in May 2013. It is popular because it stays green year-round. Houston is at the southwestern corner of its range.
