I first noticed ruellia growing the southeastern corner of my backyard on April 19, 2014, by the back yard gate. I suspect it might have come from my previous home's back yard because I brought some of the soil from my garden there to my new house and temporarily kept it in that spot. At my old house, I identified it (right or wrong) as the invasive Ruellia simplex.
