St. Augustine Grass - Wikipedia
St. Augustine Grass - Texas A&M

St. Augustine Grass has long been the default lawn grass in Houston, and it covered most of the front and back yards when I moved to this house in May 2013. This picture shows a portion of the back yard on August 25, 2013, where I had just dug out my first keyhole bed. Note the tomato transplant on the left side. That is the first food plant I planted here.

On May 1, 2017, I found a single St. Augustine raceme poking up above the rest of the front yard main lawn.
