Dear Pea Vetch - Jim Conrad's Naturalist Newsletter
Much to my surprise, I came upon a single, small vetch in the middle of Bed 1 in early April 2018, in an area where the winter lettuce crop had been mostly cleared. Perhaps some seeds snuck in with the leaves I collect to make much every spring.
The size and shape of the leaves, as well as the color of the flowers, seem to be a little variable based on my explorations on the web. This plant could be common vetch (Vicia sativa), but deer pea vetch's flower color seems closer to what I have.
