U. of Missouri - Arrowleaf Sida

I often see arrowleaf sida at roadsides, right of ways, and other disturbed land around Houston. However, I had never seen it in my backyard until May 5, 2020.

Arrowleaf sida is in the Mallow family (Malvaceae), and it it native to the tropics and subtropics of the western hemisphere. Its leaves resemble those of some mints, but narrower and more furrowed, and this individual managed to hide among my mints until it bloomed. The Missouri link has good descriptive information, and the Wikipedia page provides several uses of the plant from around the world.
