Brussel sprouts are a cultivar of wild cabbage (Brassica oleracea).

I have grown brussel sprouts once in the backyard. It grew more or less correctly, but I neglected it for a long time, until one day I noticed the plant had a lot of very small "sprouts". I didn't even try one of them. Maybe next time!
