Ocimum sanctum Linn. A reservoir plant for therapeutic applications

Duration: Perennial Origination: Indian subcontinentEdibility: All PartsStatus in Yard: Not currently planted

Tulsi was among the first set of plants I put in the C Bed. I planted it on August 25, 2013, three months after I moved into the house. It grew well, and I used the leaves. It is a perennial plant, but basils in general do not handle cold well. It must have died, or appeared dead enough for me to remove it, in a cold snap. Here it is on the day I bought it.

I grew some tulsi indoors from seed starting on February 26, 2018, and transplanted it to the S and I beds in March.
