The C Bed

The C Bed, named for its shape, was the first garden bed I created in my back yard, on August 24, 2013.

On August 25, 2013, I planted the following transplants in the new bed:

I sowed seeds of these vegetables in the same bed:
  •  Carrot ‘Danvers 126’
  •  Romaine ‘Parris Island Cos’
  •  Romaine ‘Freckles’
  •  Beet ‘Early Wonder’
  •  Spinach 'Monstrueux de Viroflay'
  •  Radish 'French Breakfast'

By September 12, 2013, The brassicas (kales, collards, cauliflower and broccoli) had grown significantly in the south side of the C, and most of the seeds had sprouted.

On the north side of the C, there were some problems. The jalapeno plant soon had yellow patches around dark dead areas.

Also, the tulsi basil looked like some kind of hemiptera (stink bug, leaf-footed bug, etc) had poked some of its leaves.

On September 22. 2013, the red giant mustard had a seedling with a pair of true leaves.

Beet seedlings were also doing well that day.
As was the sweet basil.
It looks like I had put at least one strawberry plant in the C Bed, and it had developed some kind of problem, possibly caused by a leaf miner larva, by September 24, 2013.

On January 12, 2014, I connected the triangle bed to the C bed, thus creating the S bed.
