Brassica Napus - Wikipedia
Siberian "kale" isn't the same species as other kales, which are in the Acephala group of the species Brassica oleracea. Instead, it is of the same species as rapeseed, the plant from whose seeds canola oil is produced.
I planted a bought transplant of Siberian kale on September 12, 2013, as part of my first attempt at gardening in my back yard.
